Retro bag is making a comeback:)

"Avoska" is a Russian word that describes a string bag. This "space-saving-bag" was used for grocery shopping in Russia during Soviet times. It was very popular accessory for both women and men.

The same bag called "bilum" with different capacities, colors and shapes was widely used in Africa. Highland women wearing their colorful, bilum bags on their heads.
Bilums are natural string bags, very strong, used for everything: from babies, to food, to personal possessions or even wood fire!
